Description
The Ruprechtice quarry is located in the cadastral area of Liberec, on its north-eastern border, in the district of Ruprechtice. It is easily accessible through Na Vyhlídce Street. The quarry is surrounded by forest and penetrates deep underneath the surrounding terrain (quarry pit). The quarry has been mined for more than 100 years. Its geological conditions allow mining of large monumental blocks of granite. There are three quarry workstations in the immediate surroundings: Lednice, Wagner I and Wagner II. Mining is currently only carried out in Lednice. The mined stone is processed directly in the quarry in gross stonework operations. Fine stonework production takes place in an operation plant located in the district of Rochlice in Liberec. It includes stone cutting and surface treatment (jetting by quartz sand, grounding, polishing, plating, dressing and daubing).
