Stones, sandpits and limestone quarries in the Czech Republic

This 22 ha large four-storey sand quarry is located about 1 km southeast from the village of Vrábče. It is accessible via an eastbound turn from the road between Vrábče and Kroclov, which then turns 300 m southeast. Mining is carried out in the southeastern part of the sand quarry, from where the sand is transported about 500 m via belt conveyors to a processing plant (washing and sorting). The sand quarry produces pit sand (mortar), washed sand (concrete), stucco sand (0-1 mm), and gravel of different fractions of up to 32-100 mm.
