Stones, sandpits and limestone quarries in the Czech Republic

The quarry is easily accessible and is located east from road No. 284 leading between Lázně Bělohrad and Nová Paka on the northern border of the village of Horní Nová Ves in a residential area. It is located on the partially forested southwestern slope of the Kulatý hill. Bělohrady sandstone is mined horizontally along separated deposit layers with a thickness of up to tens of centimetres, which limits the maximum volume of mined blocks. Stone from the quarry is processed for gross and fine stonework products (skirting stone, paving, tiling, garden architecture elements, etc.).
