Bělohrady sandstone is characterised as fine grained, quartz, light yellowish with massive marbling of reddish-brown up to pink colours. The pigmentation is unique in terms of colouring and texture and it makes the Bělohrady sandstone really unique and unmistakable. Typical raw stone is shown in Figure 1. The marbling becomes clearly visible after processing, as is shown in the cut stone image (Figure 2). In addition to marbled sandstone, the quarry also contains pigmented sandstones on surfaces or in layers (Figures 3 to 6).
