Description:
The predominantly mined stone in this quarry is the light grey Silesian granite depicted in Figures 1 and 2. Sporadically, yellow granite (see Figure 3) may also be found; this granite is coloured by ferrous pigments of various shades of ochre up to reddish brown. This pigmentation is not only evenly distributed but also locally delimited, as is clearly shown in Figures 2 and 4. The stone also contains light aplite veins up to several cm, rarely several decimeters thick (see Figure 5). Figure 6 shows polished stone.
