Description
Two-floor, medium size granite quarry with yearly production of about 10 thousand tonnes is located in a forest on the northwestern slope of Žulový vrch. It is accessible from the village of Vápenná via a local road leading along the Vidnavka River. At the northern border of the village, there is turn east from this road and after about 1 km, there is a field path leading south towards the quarry. It is currently not possible to mine large stone blocks in the quarry. Their mining is planned after the bottom layers are uncovered. This process is currently under way. It can be expected that block mining will yield blocks weighing several tens of tonnes. The mined stone is transported to a plant at 143 Nádražní Street Žulová, where it is processed for gross stonework products.
