Description
The quarry has been family owned for 3 generations. It is 38 metres deep and is located in a forest approximately 500 metres northwest of the village of Žernovka. The quarry is accessible from Horka Street leading from Žernovka towards Babice. The access road is about 200 metres long and leads from this street north towards the forest and the quarry. The quarry bottom is difficult to access and the stone is therefore mined by crane or cable. This means the mined blocks must not weigh more than 5 tonnes. Granite is processed at the quarry site into gross stonework products.
