Description:
Granite from Chlum u Blatné is almost identical to granite mined in the nearby Blatná quarry. It is medium grained grey granite (Figure 1) containing black basic clots, as shown in Figures 2 and 3. Ferrous pigmentation (see Figure 4) can only be found in top layers and at fractures. The quarry also contains white and light pink veins with thickness ranging from several centimeters to several decimeters (see Fig. 5). Fig. 6 shows polished granite.
