Stones, sandpits and limestone quarries in the Czech Republic

A relatively small pit quarry located about 500 metres south from the centre of Vepice. From the village centre the quarry may be accessed via a local road leading south, which turns into a field path after approximately 300 metres. Stone blocks are mined using explosives, as well as wire saws. The stone is processed into gross stonework products at the quarry. Some of the blocks are transported to a processing plant located about 1 km south from Přílepov, in a forest, near road No. 19. Here the stone is processed into fine and final stonework products (cutting, sanding, polishing, manual stonework, etc.).
