Skuteč granite is medium grained and typically of dark grey colour (see Figure 1). Locally the stone contains basic clots of up to several decimetres, as is clearly visible in Figure 2, and light veins (see Figure 3). Certain parts of the quarry contain very light granite with a low content of biotite, as depicted in Figure 4. Ochre ferrous pigmentation, shown in Figure 5, can only be found near fractures. Figure 6 shows a polished granite surface.
