Description
The sand quarry is located near the Bečva River, east from the road connecting Hustopeče nad Bečvou with Němetice. The material is mined from under the water surface from a 4 m thick wall by a bucket excavator and is transported using belt conveyors to the nearby processing plant. The first washing and crushing of the material is done on the boat, and the second washing and sorting is done ashore. The quarry produces washed sand with grain-size fractions of 0-16, 0-22 and 16-32 mm.
