Description
The Matula pit quarry is located on the edge of a forest about 2 km northwest from the centre of Hlinsko. It is accessible via a northbound turn from the road connecting Hlinsko and Srní. The granite is mined by blasting. Stone is transported from the quarry using lifts and cranes, which limits the size of blocks to 10 tonnes. Granite is processed near the quarry into gross and fine stonework products. Circular and wire saws are available. The surface is treated by jetting, polishing, sanding and daubing.
