Stones, sandpits and limestone quarries in the Czech Republic

The five-floor pit quarry is located between Bohdaneč and Nové Louky near Zbraslavice. The marble is mined by blasting. Most of the limestone is crushed and sorted to different fractions near the quarry and then sold as raw material, e.g. for production of building materials. Larger blocks are used in garden architecture. The owner plans to start the production of smaller facings in the near future. Production of large marble slabs is not possible due to the geological conditions and the current mining method.
