Description
The stone quarry is situated in a forest, on a hill, about 1 km northeast from the village of Dubičná. It is accessible via a turn leading northwest from road No. 15 between Lukovec and Kravaře. Basalt in the quarry is mostly in the form of pentagonal columns with a diameter of 80-120 cm, which were formed by slowly cooling igneous rock. The stone is mined by breaking off of these columns without the use of explosives and it is then processed near the quarry. Typical products include skirting stone, split cubes, curb, paving and tiling.
