Description:
The trachyte of Teplá is basically cream coloured, with local light green colouring (see Figure 1) Ferrous pigmentation of various shades of ochre up to orange-brown is common and it occurs in the groundmass, in layers and often as small and dense spots, as is depicted in Figures 2 to 4. Locally the stone contains dark veins or clots, shown in Figures 5 and 6.
