Description
This quarry is situated in the forest in the valley of the Bystřice brook, some two kilometres to the south of Domašov nad Bystřicí. However, it is best accessed from the village of Jívová along the road the leads east into the valley past Nivský mlýn and then through the valley north along the railway line. Moravian-Silesian slate and greywacke are quarried here, in the bottom sections of a face approx. 80 m high, by breaking the rock off using excavators (in rare cases also using explosives). The stone is sorted, chipped and cut in the quarry. Sorted slate chippings are sold, as well as slabs.
