Stones, sandpits and limestone quarries in the Czech Republic

This extensive eight-storey quarry, in close proximity to the Suchomasty I quarry, is also known as the Western Quarry. The quarry complex, also referred to as Čertovy schody (Devil’s Steps), is situated between the villages of Koněprusy and Suchomasty. It is mostly easily accessed from the southwest from the village of Tmaň. The complex includes a manufacturing plant where the limestone is also used to produce lime and hydrated lime.
