Stones, sandpits and limestone quarries in the Czech Republic

This large two-storey sand quarry is located about 3 km southwest from the village of Hrušovany near Brno and is accessible from the southbound road from Ledce leading parallel to the R52 expressway. Sand is mined using loaders from up to 10m high walls and is processed by washing and sorting directly in the quarry. The sand quarry produces sorted sand, both pit and washed sand, with fractions of 0-4, 4-8, 8-16 mm.
